Annual Report - 2023

Activities and balance of the SOS Mata Atlântica Foundation in 2023

“Brazil's efforts to position the Mata Atlântica as a global biodiversity hotspot have attracted and strengthened flows of public, private, and philanthropic investments in conservation, restoration, and ecosystem services protection, benefiting businesses directly and fostering prosperity for society as a whole.”

Carlos Abras, Development Manager

A Full Commitment to Philanthropy

Mol Impacto, formerly known as Editora Mol, specializes in fostering a culture of donation in Brazil. As a pioneer, it publishes thematic magazines and books sold in major retail chains such as Droga Raia, Drogasil, and Petz, with proceeds supporting various organizations.

In 2023, Mol began donating 5% of sales from all these social products to SOS Mata Atlântica, which offsets carbon emissions through forest restoration.

New Partnerships for Biodiversity Conservation

In 2023, we celebrated significant partnerships that expanded and enhanced protected area initiatives. These include collaborations with Instituto Humanize, supporting actions in Serra da Bocaina National Park; Salesforce Foundation, supporting activities in the Middle Tietê River basin; Embassy of France in Brazil and Airbnb, with ongoing support planned for 2024.

Expansion and Continuity

Presenting positive impact results led to expanded partnerships with AES Brazil (highlighted in Restoration) and iFood, which collects donations from users and the company for tree planting in the Mata Atlântica. It also helped maintain support from various companies such as Ypê, Bradesco, Scania, Deloitte, among others.
